City of Golden Covid-19 Business Recovery Loan Program

Covid-19 Business Impacts Information

Businesses may apply for loans up to the following:

  • 75% of 2019 city sales tax (3% tax rate) remittances up to a maximum of $30,000 OR
  • 2.25% of 2019 revenues up to $30,000 (for businesses that don’t pay City of Golden sales tax).

For those using 2019 revenues to calculate loan request, attach 2019 revenue information (do not attach 2019 sales tax information). I have read the program eligibility criteria for the City of Golden Covid-19 Business Recovery Loan Program listed at the beginning of this application, and the documentation requirements listed at the end of this application. I understand that loans will be approved at the discretion of the City based on the program eligibility criteria and the responses provided in this application. I understand that program funds are limited, and that submitting an application does not guarantee a loan. I further understand the City may change or terminate the program at any time, for any reason.   
 
I certify that I am authorized to sign this application as, or on behalf of, the Applicant. I agree to verify any of the information contained in this application upon request by the City. If approved for a loan, I agree to provide feedback to the City of Golden in the form of an online survey on my business’ use and impact of the loan at 60, 90 and 120 days after receipt of loan proceeds.
 
I agree that my business is fully responsible for determining and understanding the effect that my receipt of loan program funds, if awarded, may have on any other applications for, my business’ eligibility for, or awards from, other economic aid or relief programs from any other entity whatsoever, and I agree that by submitting this application, I and my business release the City of Golden from any responsibility or liability for any effect the receipt of loan funds from the City may have on such applications, eligibility, or awards from such other programs.

All applications will become property of the City of Golden, and all applications are subject to the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. § 24-72-200.1 et seq., provided that the City will use its best efforts to maintain the confidentiality of any confidential financial information submitted, as permitted by law.

Documentation

If approved for the loan, borrowers will be required to provide documentation which includes, but is not limited to, the following information. The information below is for reference only and is NOT necessary to complete this application. Please note that all approved borrowers will be required to open an account at On Tap Credit Union for both loan disbursement and servicing.

  1. Businesses need to demonstrate a financial need for this grant, which includes, but is not limited to:
    1. Documentation that they have been forced to temporarily close or operations have been dramatically impacted due to COVID-19 public health orders.
    2. 2019 City of Golden sales taxes or 2019 revenues
    3. 2020 year-to-date revenues
    4. Provide support for the monthly rent or mortgage payment amount, such as an executed lease agreement or mortgage coupon.
  2. Documentation showing whether applications have been made for SBA grants/loans or other financing commitments to assist the future viability of operations due to lost revenue from COVID-19 (PPP, EIDL, etc.)
  3. Is borrower current with Golden sales tax and fees?
  4. Borrower cannot be the subject of a bankruptcy proceeding.
  5. Certificate of Good Standing

All applications and associated materials will be considered confidential. Only complete applications will be accepted, and all submissions will become the property of the City of Golden.
